Saying Goodbye
I've heard many stories about people seeing images of people in one place only to later find out they've died elsewhere at the same time. This is one of those stories. I will use initials here for personal reasons. This happened to friends of ours we'll call Mr. D. C and Mrs. T. C. One day while walking her dog Mrs. C saw what seemed to be her husband's mother. She told me it seemed to just appear and then slowly faded away and her first thought was that must by D's mother, she's dead. Just as she got home the phone rang. It was a woman looking for Mr. C. He wasn't home so Mrs. C told the lady how to get a hold of him. Just before she rang off she asked the woman if this had anything to do with D's mother. The woman seemed puzzled and said yes it was. It turned out D's mother had just died. I guess she wanted check in with her loved ones before she crossed over.
Another mysterious occurrence happened just after Mr. C died. Mrs. C told me that she had moved all D's clothes out of the closet shortly after he died. That night she swears she heard the scrapping sound as if the hangers in the closet were being moved though when she opened her eyes there was no one there. This happened for a couple of nights before Mrs. C realized D wasn't quite ready for her to move his things. She put them back into the closet and the night noises stopped. She did eventually remove the clothes but in stages to appease her husband. Though she believes her husband is near he doesn't seem to complain about his clothes anymore.
Someone's Watching
Protective Spirit?
This one isn't really a ghost story, but I swear there was something working here. We were having dinner with Chris and Sarah's family one night. We were having ribs. Dad was using a knife to cut the meat when the handle broke and the blade went flying. Someone could have been seriously hurt but they weren't. You see the blade landed ON Chris's shoulder. Just on his back shoulder blade. I swear it was a miracle or something like that because that blade could have landed somewhere much deeper. I thank the spirit that was watching that day protected him.
Family Connections
Some of the our family truly believe that my Grandpa, long dead, delights in haunting us. Here's one of our stories. It happened on a night when my Uncle had his kids for the night and my mom was sleeping over at my grandparents house because my Gramma was away. Mom was looking after the dog. Firstly. The dog began to go snaky. She whined and turned in circles and paced and looked up suddenly as if she felt someone else was in the room. (Needless to say it scared my mom) Then she found out half an hour later another occurrence happened at my Uncle's. His daughter Sam was upstairs in her dad's room. His son Ryan was asleep, his door was closed and my uncle was downstairs. My uncle was watching the hallway upstairs. Sam came out of her dad's room then stopped and stepped back as if she was letting someone else walk in front of her. Then she looked down at Ryan's room and the door opened. When my uncle went to investigate Ryan was sound asleep. It must be noted that my uncle's room and Ryan's room are on opposite ends of the hall. Sam couldn't have opened it and Ryan doesn't fake sleeping.
Note: This wasn't the last incident with Ryan and Sam. It happened another time and when my uncle checked Ryan was fast a sleep.
This could be a good thing too. It may be a similar or the same protective spirit (Grandpa perhaps) that went up to check on my cousin JW one day while he was napping. It happened when my parents and I were babysitting. My dad was helping Bej with homework and mom and I were making chocolates, JW was napping. I said to dad "Could you go wake up JW so he doesn't sleep too long" dad said he'd do it in a minute and mom said "I think someone just did". She went on to say she'd just seen something or someone going up the stairs as we were talking. There was no one else in the house. When we went up JW was fast asleep and no one was up there but I believe someone was sitting with him till we could go up.
